Does the food stamp department check if you have bank accounts ?
What if some one has two accounts in two different banks, and he show the food stamp office only one of these accounts, and did not mention the other account, do they know about it ? Do they really check if you have accounts in all banks other than the bank you admit to have account in ? The application for food stamp usually take about 30 days. The office verify the information you presented in the interview, what exactly the information they want to verify ? bank accounts or what ?
Any bank accounts you have had in the last 2 years will show up on an IVES (Income Verification & Earnings Statement) report. Also any job or mortgages for the last 2 years. You are allowed to have $2000 in resources.

They don’t check only to a certain extent, the purpose is to see if you have money on hand to be able to buy food or other luxury items. The process can take less than 30 days if you have an need for emergency food. By giving them your statement of accounts that’s how they verify the money on hand.

it would be wise to disclose all accounts. when i needed help i didn’t show both accounts. they didn’t notice and both accounts were at the same bank. your account doesn’t need to be empty i had $700 in it and still qualified
